Biography: I've been crafting for as long as I can remember. I get this from my Mom. Many a night when I was pint size, I would watch her craft all kinds of little things. For us, for gifts, for sale. When she was under pressure, like Halloween night, that is when she was her best. I think I take after her. I love a crafting challenge.
I have always worked in whatever craft of the moment was popular. I painted on t-shirts, then painted on wood, then did jewelry, now have been doing scrapbooking. I've always loved product of any kind. My first product addiction when I was pint size was crayons. You know, the big box with the built in pencil sharpener. For the longest time after I got one of those boxes, I would not use them, for fear of dulling the fine point! Now I'm older, I use the crayons and a whole lot more.
During the day I am mild mannered administrative assistant in the private equity biz on the west side. At night and on weekends, I turn into ta da! Store Manager, Events Coordinator and Creative Consultant at Creative Paradise in Sherman Oaks. And when I'm not at either places, I craft, or spend my time buying craft supplies. I dream of the day when I can actually craft something with the stuff I keep buying! I've also recently started creating Katubah's for wedding couples. What I love about this new adventure is that a Katubah can be as varied as the two people that are getting married. My brother in law, Rabbi Brian Mayer, marries very diverse couples thus allowing me to really be creative when I am creating a Katubah for each and every couple. My husband is a very talented artist/crafter too and we fight for space in the garage.
I've jumped into the electronic age...finally, and have a website and blog. Don't expect any bells and whistles there friend, just something basic for now. My website address is: www.terryfrias.com I reside in the Valley with my fur babies, three dogs and one cat and one not so furry hubby.
